Israeli Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich (pictured left) sent a letter of resignation to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Monday in order to continue as a Knesset member of the Religious Zionism party, before he is once again reappointed to the ministerial roles he held.

Smotrich's party mentioned that the move comes as recently reappointed National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir shook things up in the Israeli parliament, with the firing and return of some members.

Once he becomes a Knesset member again, Smotrich will be able to go back to his ministerial duties with another person from his party taking his spot in the parliament under the "Norwegian Law."
