Barclays supposedly lays off 15 NY bankers, traders
Barclays plc fired 15 of its bankers and traders based in New York, The New York Post reported on Friday citing sources with knowledge on the matter.
According to the sources, none of the individuals in question were given bonuses. One of the sources explained that while an investment banker could have a $200,000 salary, an expected bonus at the end of the year could be as high as $1 million. It was further stated that some of the staff members, who were laid off, are thinking about filing over $10 million lawsuits.
"We regularly review our talent pool to ensure that we are investing in talent, delivering for clients and best positioned for long-term success as we execute against our strategy," a Barclays spokesperson told the media outlet.
