Precious metals fall, gold down 1.5%

Precious metals traded lower on Thursday as market uncertainty continued ahead of the holiday weekend. Gold retreated from its recent record high of $3,357.95, losing as much as 1.5%, but recording gains of 9.86% in a month.
Gold dropped 1.54% at 10:35 am ET, going for $3,291.63 per ounce, while silver fell by 1.78% and sold for $32.18 per ounce. Platinum was down by 0.77% and went for $963.29 per ounce and palladium plunged 2.21%, selling for $938.71 per ounce.
