Dutch Foreign Affairs Minister Caspar Veldkamp (pictured right) and Foreign Trade and Development Minister Reinette Klever (left) sent a letter on Monday to the Dutch parliament announcing stricter controls on all military and dual-use exports to Israel.

Under the new measures, all direct exports and the transit of these goods, those that could serve both civilian and military purposes, will now require case-by-case approval and will no longer fall under general export licenses. The ministers said the decision was "desirable given the security situation in Israel, the Palestinian Territories and the broader region," according to ANP.

The move comes amid heightened scrutiny over arms transfers to Israel.
