Lufthansa reportedly cancels flights over IT systems outage

German airline Lufthansa and other carriers that are part of the Lufthansa Group were forced to cancel flights all around the world following a "complete failure" of the company's IT systems, Bild reported on Wednesday citing the company.
According to the outlet, the outage made it impossible to create any flight plans, and transmit data. Airplanes are now set to be boarded manually, but planes will still need the system to be operational in order to be able to take off, reports noted.
Lufthansa is said to have set up a crisis team to address the issue and find a solution. The reason behind the outage remains unclear at the moment.
