Japan's service sector improved in November, with the main figure landing above the neutral 50 to mark overall growth, according to a preliminary report released by S&P Global on Friday.

The seasonally adjusted figure showed the Jibun Bank Japan Services Business Activity Index at 50.2, rising compared to last month's figure of 49.7, which marked a downturn in the sector.

In the report, an economist at S&P Global Market Intelligence Usamah Bhatti said the November data also brought a steeper rise in employment, but that the "modest rate od job creation was nonetheless the strongest in four months."
