Israeli Foreign Ministry Director-General Eden Bar Tal stated on Tuesday that the international community must call on Hamas to agree to a new ceasefire and hostage exchange deal.

"Hamas is the only obstacle to the release of the hostages," the official insisted at a press conference. He also urged the other powers to instruct Turkey not to attack Kurdish fighter groups in Syria.

His comments came after Hamas published a list of prisoners set for release in the initial stage of the prospective truce.
