An Israeli negotiating delegation is currently holding talks on the Gaza ceasefire and hostage deal with mediators in Egypt, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's office said in a statement on Sunday.

"Under the directive of Prime Minister Netanyahu, representatives of the negotiation team are currently meeting in Egypt with senior Egyptian officials to discuss the issue of the hostages," the statement read.

Meanwhile, Axios' reporter Barak Ravid revealed that Egyptian officials are set to travel to Washington next week to discuss the development of the negotiations and the current Israeli and Hamas positions on the agreement.
