German factory orders up 4.2% in September

Seasonally and price-adjusted new factory orders in Germany climbed by 4.2% in September compared to the previous month, the country's Federal Statistical Office Destatis revealed in a report published on Wednesday.
Foreign orders increased by 4.4% compared to August, while domestic orders grew by 3.6%. New orders from the euro area surged by 14.6%, while new orders from other countries decreased by 1.6% month-on-month. New orders of intermediate goods declined by 2.4%, while capital goods orders advanced by 8.3%, and orders of consumer goods rose by 3.8%.
On an annual basis, calendar-adjusted new factory orders increased by 1% in September.
