Seasonally and price-adjusted new factory orders in Germany remained unchanged in February compared to the previous month, the country's Federal Statistical Office Destatis revealed in its report on Friday. New orders declined by 0.2% compared to the same month in the previous year.

Domestic orders dipped by 1.2% in the reported month compared to January, while foreign orders rose by 0.8%. New orders from the euro area were up by 1.5%, while orders from outside the Eurozone rose by 3.4%.

The analysis shows that decreased orders in metal product manufacturing, down 7.4, electrical equipment production, decreasing 5.3%, and the pharmaceutical sector, worsening by 5.9%, contributed negatively to the outcome. However, the overall results benefited from growth in new orders across mechanical engineering, up 3.4%, diverse transport equipment, including aircraft, ships, trains and military vehicles; which rose 3.8%, and the automotive sector, 0.6% higher.
