GOP wins another Senate seat with Montana flip
United States Senator from Montana, Democrat Jon Tester (pictured) lost his seat to Republican businessman Tim Sheehy, according to projections. The latest victory gives the GOP 52 Senate seats to the Democrats' 42, with five states still undecided. Republicans have flipped three Senate seats so far and will have the majority until the next midterm elections.
Former Navy SEAL and founder of Bridger Aerospace, 38-year-old Sheehy has never held political office. Tester was first elected to the Senate in 2006, flipping the seat for the Democrats. He served three terms, narrowly winning reelection in 2012 and 2018.
