The annual inflation rate in France stood at 0.8% in March, the country's statistical office INSEE reported on Tuesday, confirming the preliminary inflation figure. The Consumer Price Index (CPI) rose by 0.2% compared to the previous month.

The rise in annual inflation was attributed mainly to an increase in service prices, which rose by 2.3%, which was partially mitigated by energy prices slumping by 6.6% compared to the same period in the previous year. Food prices added 0.6%, while tobacco prices jumped by 4.1% compared to March 2024.

Annual core inflation in France, excluding food and energy, stood at 1.3% in March, unchanged from February's figure.
