Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis President Alberto Musalem addressed concerns at a conference in Washington, on Monday, emphasizing that while the outlook for economic growth remains solid, recent economic data, particularly relating to growth and employment, has been weaker than expected. He noted that these factors could pose risks to continued growth.

Musalem highlighted that inflation is still above the Federal Open Market Committee's 2% target, despite its decline, and warned that short-term inflation expectations are rising. However, he reassured that long-term inflation expectations remain stable. Musalem expressed confidence in a patient approach to monetary policy.
