Russian troops intercepted a French-made SCALP missile in Kursk Oblast, the Russian Emergencies Ministry confirmed on Tuesday.

"In the Kursk region, the Russian Emergencies Ministry's sappers defused a French-made SCALP cruise missile. Before carrying out the defused and destroyed work, the sappers first reconnoitered the area using drones to check for unauthorized persons in the dangerous work area. After that, they defused the missile and destroyed the warheads with a charge on the spot," the ministry added.

Since August 2024, EMERCOM experts have successfully destroyed approximately 2,000 explosive devices, undertaking nearly 300 missions, as reported by the ministry.
