Major European stock indexes traded mostly with losses at the close on Tuesday as investors scrutinized the latest economic prints, which showed that manufacturing activity across Europe slowed in September.

The DAX declined 0.58% at the close, as Henkel lost 2.89%. Concurrently, the Euro Stoxx 50 dropped 0.93%, with Santander nosediving 4.88%. At the end of the session, the CAC 40 tumbled 0.81% as LVMH plunged 3.56%. Simultaneously, the FTSE 100 gained 0.48% with Bae Systems up 2.91%.

The euro traded 0.65% below the dollar at 5:33 pm CET, going for 1.10635. At the same time, the pound was 0.75% down against the greenback, changing hands for 1.32738.
