Lacking adequate shelter, Gaza City's remaining residents are seeking refuge in "bombed-out buildings" or "under fabric, plastic sheeting, blankets," Al Jazeera reported, citing Louise Wateridge, senior emergency officer with the United Nations (UN) Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA).
Speaking to the news agency from Gaza City on Wednesday, Wateridge said the living conditions are a "very miserable" sight to witness. "People don’t have anywhere to shelter," she said, pointing to "almost impossible" attempts "to keep out of the wind and the rain." Wateridge stressed that "very few aid supplies" remain.
