Eurozone's GDP grows by 0.1% in Q4
The Eurozone's gross domestic product (GDP) observed a quarterly rise of 0.1% in the fourth trimester of 2024, the European Union's statistical office Eurostat said in its second estimate published on Friday. The figure was revised slightly up compared to the earlier report. The European Union's economy expanded by 0.2%.
Year-on-year, the euro area's GDP grew by 0.9%, and the EU's by 1.1%. In the entire 2024, it went up by 0.7% in the Eurozone and 0.9% in the political bloc. Among the members, the highest annual rise of 3.7% was noted in Poland and the quarterly one of 1.5% in Portugal.
Compared to the previous quarter, the number of unemployed people increased by 0.1% in both the Eurozone and the EU. On an annual basis, it grew by 0.6% in the euro area and 0.5% in the EU.
