Amazon.com Inc. is working on an artificial intelligence model with "reasoning capabilities," Business Insider reported on Tuesday. According to a person involved in the project, the model should be unveiled in June as part of Amazon's Nova foundation models.

The source explained that Amazon wants a "hybrid reasoning" AI model, which would be able to output fast answers to queries as well as "more complex extended thinking." The company is reportedly looking to make the new product more affordable than its competitors, including Google, OpenAI and Anthropic.
