Three-quarters of United States voters believe the Democratic Party would have had a better chance of winning the 2024 presidential election if it had had a nominee that is not Joe Biden, a new poll by CNN and SSRS published on Tuesday found.

The survey also determined that former President Donald Trump leads Biden by 6 points in the race of who is most likely to be head of state after November 5. Both men are still to be officially confirmed at their respective parties' conventions.

The poll came amid public concerns about Biden's performance during the first presidential debate, which many deemed an inadequate response to Trump's.
