Kim says N. Korea went to 'every length' in negotiation US

North Korean leader Kim Jong-un, speaking at an arms exhibition, said despite negotiating with the United States, Washington remains hostile to his country, the KCNA reported.

"We have already gone to every length in negotiations with the US," Kim said, claiming that the US maintained an "unchanging invasive and hostile policy toward North Korea." He added that the only way to maintain peace was to achieve the highest level of defense capability.

The tension between North Korea and the West only increased since the North deployed troops to help Russia in Ukraine, while South Korea, the US and Japan formed a secretariat in order to bolster cooperation, an action Kim has threatened retaliation over.
