Consumer prices in Japan in October surprised analysts' projections, according to a report released by the Statistics Bureau of Japan on Friday.
The headline index rose by 2.3% year-on-year, marking a somewhat moderate drop when compared to the CPI of 2.5% registered in September.
Additional data for the month showed that consumer prices excluding fresh food and energy, as well as the same index excluding only fresh food both also improved by 2.3% year-on-year.
