Italy's non-EU trade surplus at €5.9B in November
Italy's trade surplus with non-EU27 countries stood at €5.9 billion in November, the country's National Institute of Statistics revealed in its preliminary report published on Monday. The figure decreased from €6.1 billion in the same month in 2023.
Exports to countries outside the European Union rose by 0.4% in November year-on-year, while the figure increased by 5.6% month-on-month. Imports from non-EU countries advanced by 1.3% compared to the same period in the previous year and by 5.3% compared to October's figure.
The main contributors to the increase in exports were the sales of energy, which climbed by 64.2%, and the sales of capital goods, which grew by 10.3%. Meanwhile, the rise in imports was mainly due to the 18.8% increase in purchases of non-durable goods and a 3.8% increase in intermediate goods purchases.
