Israel secures €560M air defense deal with Slovakia
Israel's Defense Ministry announced Monday that it has signed a €560 million deal to sell the Barak MX Integrated Air Defense System (pictured) to Slovakia. The agreement was signed by Maj. Gen. Eyal Zamir in Tel Aviv and involves Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI).
According to the ministry, the sale represents a "significant milestone in defense cooperation" and in straightening Israel's defense export. The Barak MX is designed to counter various aerial threats, including ballistic missiles and drones. With operational ranges of 35, 70, and 150 km, the system provides flexible, high-performance interception capabilities.
"The expansion of Israeli defense exports in parallel with the war is a direct continuation of the achievements of Israeli technologies on the battlefield. We see growing interest from additional countries in the extraordinary performance of the IDF and Israeli combat systems, both in defense and offense," Zamir said.
