Biden congratulates S. Africa's Ramaphosa on re-election

United States President Joe Biden held a phone conversation with South African President Cyril Ramaphosa to commend South Africa on forming the so-called government of National Unity (GNU) and to congratulate Ramaphosa on his re-election by the National Assembly.

According to a White House readout of the call, the two leaders also discussed the US-South Africa bilateral relationship and future partnerships, including leadership in the G20, with Biden highlighting South Africa's legacy as a democratic leader, as South Africa celebrates 30 years of democracy.
