5.9-magnitude earthquake hits near Cuban coast
A 5.9-magnitude earthquake struck near Cuba's southern coast on Monday, according to the United States Geological Survey (USGS).
The quake was recorded at a depth of 22.2 kilometers at 1:00 am local time. The epicenter was registered 37 kilometers south of the Cuban municipality of Guisa, which has a population of 44,566.
There were no initial reports of casualties or material damages, and no tsunami warning was issued by the US Tsunami Warning Center.
